Twenty Eight - Sharp Ended Attack

I had much to do. So I set to it in the logical ways.

First I opened my arms out wide, tilted my head back, opened my mouth, then closed one arm up back in to adjust the treadmill I was wearing as a codpiece which had shifted to a slightly uncomfortable position (where I could see how little distance I'd run on it life time - pathetic).

I then opened my arm back out again, and then closed the other arm back again to press the off switch on my codpiece, as it turned out I must have bumped on the on switch as I was making aforementioned adjustment, then I opened that arm back out, before closing the other arm back in and turning the codpiece back on as, hey, if fate wanted in on then maybe I should listen to it.

I then shooed away a middle aged married guy who had begun setting up a TV next to my codpiece while drinking a beer, and setting it to a low speed and yet still boasting to his friend on the phone that he worked-out nearly everyday (although from where I could see he appeared to have only run a small amount on it life time - pathetic) so I was forced to curse fate for being a dick, and make a mental note to pick a more practical codpiece next time, like an exercise bike, rowing machine, or stairwell to a skyscraper.

Following this I opened my arms back out, and then checked in the mirror on the wall that my head was still tilted back, and found that it was instead titled towards the mirror for some reason, so I tilted it back to back, then checked the mirror again, and found out once again that my head was bafflingly titled towards the mirror again, a duo of actions which I repeated a dozen or so times, before smacking my forehead as I noticed that, um duh, that's not a mirror, it's a mural of a father and son fishing, so I mentally called the painter a dick, and then I realized that I'd smacked my forehead so hard that my neck was now LOCKED in the tilted back position, then I praised myself for my ingenuity, and attempted to yell to the heavens!

At first this didn't work at all. No noise came out. Not even a peep. And I was baffled. So I let Fredrick, the mouse that lives in my left jacket pocket out to do some checking up on things. As usual, he ran straight for my mouth, hoping I had some food in there. In his defense that's where I keep his food. In a small pouch I'd had sewed to the inside of my cheek, but even so his selfishness still disappointed me. I had a problem I needed fixing, and I needed help NOW! Luckily he also completely reverse disappointed me, or pointed me, as it should be known, and bit me on the lip, and he bit me with his BIG teeth, the ones I'd had a pet dentist install on him, when I'd briefly wished he was a North African Blue Necked Black Gazelle. Unfortunately this adjustment to his regular appearance had regular-disappointed me considerably, as it reminded me that when he'd tried to dye his neck-hair blue he'd misread the instructions on the box and had instead turned it more of a mauve color. And that reminded me of another time he'd POINTED me, when he'd been named 'mouse most capable of reading English'. Which was of course one of many times the committee of Recognizing Human Skills In Rodents had regular-disappointed me. As I personally would have voted for my pet Australian Bungle Pouched Rataroo into first place, after he had COMPLETELY successfully read a bottle that had said 'poison'. And I for one don't think that his subsequent epic risk taking, leading to his death, should have disqualified him (he attempted to put poison in the neighbor's cats bowl and got his face eaten off). But Fredrick's biting my lip had identified the problem here, during the mirror debacle I must have closed my mouth. And I'd obviously forgotten to note it on my mental body movement log. So I made a mental note to punch my brain later for its mistake, and got back to the task at hand. Yelling to the heavens!

'Can you do all the work for me?' I screamed as loud as I could, which wasn't very loud, as my voice was muffled by Fredrick raiding the pouch, opposite pointing me HARD, and also poking me with his claws, which also disappointed me and pointed me, this time in the original meaning of being pointed, although more like poked in this case, and specifically poked with his claws, which were very pointy.

Yet even with my cry muffled the answer came back clear as day.

'Nothing, I suppose'.

It was a weird thing for the heavens to reply. And I was worried for the two staff members I could hear around the corner from where I was now standing. One of them had just asked of the other 'what's stopping you from driving him to the hospital?' And the heavens reply had sounded strangely as if it was coming right from that area.

And it turned out that they HAD been confused. And the two of them NOW carried Kev's seemingly lifeless body to a car, and it definitely took both of them because Kev is BIG.

As I looked around it now seemed like I was the only one left in the restaurant. Admittedly I couldn't do a full reconnaissance as I wasn't completely sure I was using that word correctly, and also because due to how my neck was locked I could now only look at the ceiling. However I could tell for sure that there DEFINITELY were no customers nor staff hanging up there.

It was clear - following logic had obviously not worked. And The heavens had forsaken me once again. I paused for a brief moment to make a note to myself to stop burning an original issue still in package Luke Skywalker figurine every morning as a sacrifice in the heavens honor. It was a tough time to lose my religion. But on the other hand, it would save me lots of time stealing from nerds, and even save me money buying all those figurines off the internet (I only steal hugs from the nerds, both they and I need them, me because of a weird unexplained dull ache I often have inside my cheek, them because of some weird unexplained thing meaning some of the Star Wars toys they own keep going up on value, and inflation hurts us all).

Logic wasn't going to help me, the heavens weren't going to help me, the staff weren't going to help me and obviously Kev wasn't going to help me, those dicks. So I was forced to do something illogical, something no one should ever do, just get the job done themselves.

It was up to me, and me alone, to carry out this plan. It was a BIG job. But I knew I was up for the job. And I was up for it NOW.

How I handled* it coming up next.

*Speaking of which here is a brief list of things I've handled that have pointed me just this week:

- A frustrated old lady with knitting needles.
- A baton waving conductor.
- A kid with sticky fingers.
- A knife wielding psycho.

All of which I handled with kid gloves, something that was easy, as they had kids hands in them, and that freaked them all out so they ran away. In fairness, there was an entire kid attached the the hands, the worst kind too, a laughing one, and the knife wielding psycho was the kid's mom, who was a conductor, and who liked to knit, but I don't know why she was yelling at me, she was the one who put gloves on the kid OVER sticky fingers, and made me deal it, regular- disappointing me hard! That dick. And they all pointed me, by not pointing their pointy things at me, allowing me to feel like my point about how the opposite of disappointed should be pointed was a valid point, and that's a point I will point out as often and as a sharply as I can forever!

Burning down the house

I like to think that if my house was on fire the following things would go through my mind.

- Oh no, my house is on fire, boo.
- This sucks. Did I say boo yet?
- Oh I did?
- When?
- Oh right, right, right, right, right.
- Ha ha, that's fun to say over and over, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, ha ha, it never gets old, right, right, right, right, I could seriously be here for a long while, right, right, right.
- What do you mean, snap out of it because my house is on fire?
- Oh no, my house is on fire! Boo.
- Oh wait maybe it's just smoke?
- It could be couldn't it?
- Maybe this could be just a really badly burned toast scenario?
- I don't have housemates, so I guess it would have to be a ghost.
- But that would explain the burning, cause he's trying to hit eject on the toaster, but his hand is going right through it, and that means it's going through the hot part too, which would hurt BAD, so I'm not going to chastise him for a little smoke.
- Can it be just smoke if there are huge flames bellowing out of he windows?
- Nope?
- Damn it. That means it's fire?
- Boo.
- Wait, unless it's steam?
- Can it be steam and have bellowing flames?
- Damn it.
- Is bellowing the right word? That's more for smoke than the flames right?
- No I don't know either, that's why I asked dick.
- Although if it WAS steam, that would be badass, because it probably would mean that a steam powered time machine has arrived!
- It could be a messenger from the future just for me!
- Do time machines ever emit fire?
- You know what? Probably!
- Cause steam isn't going to be powerful enough to get you through time.
- The steam-engine probably just powers up the flashing lights that make the machine look all spacey.
- Wow, a time machine, in MY house!
- This is mad!
- Do people still say 'mad' meaning 'rad'?
- Do people still say 'rad' meaning 'good'?
- Is 'good' still 'good', I mean it's not 'awesome', or even 'great'?
- Maybe time machine person can tell me about mad new words from the future!
- Wow.
- I wonder if one will be 'hertja', that'd  be rad.
- I wonder why I was chosen?
- What's special about me?
- Do I have anything that people in the future might need?
- I still have my old high-school text books that have all the key sentences highlighted so that only the most useful of the endless lines of uselessness need be read?
- Nah, I don't think they need those. Plus I've got doodles of boobs all through them. In the future they probably have virtual reality doodles of boobs!
- My detailed knowledge of beetle attitudes towards various types of human could be valuable? Maybe in the future they're all unsure about certain beetles and their relationships with Asian women?
- But nah, they'd probably just chuck a bunch of beetles into a pit with a bunch of Asian women and observe themselves.
- My ability to be a corporate stooge while simultaneously being a corporate stooge for the original corporate's corporate rivals is still strong? Possibly. That is pretty valuable.
- That kind of extremely loyal lack of loyalty may help thwart an intergalactic disagreement?
- But then again if there are intergalactic battles going on they probably WOULD want my boob covered book on the Iranian hostage situation from the 70s or whatever, I never read it, and we've already established that they have virtual reality doodles of boobs.
- So what do I have that's valuable?
- Oh holy hell.
- My god.
- I know what it is!
- I just bought a new box of ice-cream sandwiches, oh my god someone call 911 - I'm being fucking time robbed!!!!
- And they're burning down my house to cover up the evidence!
- Which means even if they don't discover the second batch of ice-cream sandwiches I hid behind the frozen apple pie they may end up melting!
- Those future mother fuckers.
- Oh wait.
- I just remembered something.
- I don't own a house.
- Or live in America, so 911 won't do shit.
- Also why am I holding an industrial sized bottle of kerosene and some extra long matches intended for lighting barbecues?
- Oh that's right, I'm an arsenist, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, seriously ENDLESS fun.
- I wonder if anyone did call the cops?
- Oh fuck, RUUUUUUNNNN!!!

How to make a lot of money really quickly and really easily

I have a very strong sense of intuition, some call it a psychic ability, they don't say that to my face, but I know they say it because I can sense it.

Normally I only use this for selfish personal gain, by say going down to the dog track looking up at the board and accurately predicting that the chance of winning is very low so not betting, I often end up with thousands of dollars more than my friends, so that's powerful.

In fact it was during one of my great trips to the track with friends when my intuition sent me another beautifully succinct psychic vision, saying very clearly this - 'there are probably people in the world that would like to get a lot of money, really quickly in a really easy way'.

It took me aback at first when it came to me 'but people mostly get their money really slowly and really difficultly' I thought 'could this really be the opposite of what they desire?'

It sounded stupid, people living these opposite lives, but then I remembered another of my psychic predictions, as I child there was a large rock that someone had dumped on our school playground, one day I was looking at it and a voice came to me - 'getting hit in the head with that would probably hurt'. Later that same school year I was accurately predicting that a kid named Kenny was a 'stinky stinky mcstink head' and he picked up the rock and smacked me in the head with it. Yep, you guessed it, it DID hurt! I had been right.

'If that vision was true then so must this one be' I thought, 'and if this is only something those of us with the gift can figure out, then it's up to someone like me to figure out how it can be done’. I'd reached a beautiful place in my life, I'd discovered that my wonderful talents didn't only need to be used selfishly, they could also be used to help the forgotten downtrodden demographic, a group known as 'other people'.

Fortunately I'm not just psychic but also really, really, really smart, so coming up with a super easy way to get a lot of money really, really, really easily and really, really, really quick was really, really, really easy for me.

Step One: Develop severe appendicitis. Some people can do this without even trying, but for those of us who have never had one of our own organs commit suicide, you may need just the tiniest bit of effort. One simple way to do it is to rig a microwave to work even when the door is open. Now take a length of aluminum foil, duct tape one end to the area near your appendix, and then scrunch the other end up around a handful of forks (if you have giant hands be careful, if you're more dainty in the hands department be generous) and stick them in the microwave on high for at least ten minutes. You can also go for the pancreas, but I prefer the appendix for reasons that will become clear later in the process.

Step 2. Be rushed to the hospital for emergency appendix removal surgery.

Step 3. Track down a black market surgeon. They're easier to find than you'd think. In fact according to movies almost all immigrants from non-English speaking countries doing low paid menial jobs were surgeons in their homelands, but the pizza was crap so they came here. If you don't like hanging out with foreigners shame on you, but I can alternatively recommend a guy down at the local dog track, l once heard him yell at a dog after a race, screaming 'I'm gonna slice you AND your owner into a million pieces' which is a LOT of pieces, so he must have the deftest of touches with a scalpel, and he works on humans and animals so he must be very skilled.

Step 4. In some ways this is the most important step. Get your black market surgeon to open up your surgery wound, slip in some scissors, and stitch that bad boy back up.

Step 5 (optional). Sneak into the hospital and double check that the scissor brand the hospital uses matches the one now inside your stomach. This requires being sneaky which is why it's optional, I'm sure some of you don't want to be sneaky. If you don't you can also easily find this information on the Internet. This step is also a good time to say to your black market surgeon 'we didn't talk about this, but you didn't put kitchen scissors in there did you?' If he did, and he probably did, get him to surgically switch them out with surgical scissors.

Step 6. Take a couple of days off your daily ab sculpting sessions.

Step 7. At your follow up session with your doctor tell him or her that your 'stomach hurts really bad, especially here' and point towards the spot you've recently had surgery on 2-5 times (in my experience most black market surgeons will get the right scissors in there within at least the first four or five surgeries) it may help to act like you’re in a lot of pain, if you're a bad actor you can also skip step 6, in which case you'll definitely be in actual pain.

Step 8. Actually this is the most important step. After they have X-rayed your wound and discovered the surgical scissors in there, if they ask you 'have these always been there?' - answer 'NO'.

Step 9. File suit and be given lots and lots of money, really, really, really quickly and really, really, really easily.

Now I know what you are all thinking? Yes, you're right, there is one tiny little negative, or 'unpleasant' element to this process. And yes you are correct, this will be paid out by the hospital insurance rather than the hospital, and many movies have created a false representation of insurance suggesting that ripping it off is a victimless crime, and you know that in actual fact insurance fraud adds to the premiums of all insurance purchases, sometimes rendering it out of reach for lower income households which in times of accident or theft can exasperate the cycle of poverty and debt.

However, that's 'logic' you're speaking with there. And I've personally long had a hunch that logic is controlled by your appendix (which is why I recommend not going with the pancreas option) and remember I'm psychic so my hunches are normally correct.

But it the one in a million chance I am not, you won't be a low-income household anymore so what do you care?

Alright, I'm sensing that even though every one of you is utterly blown away by this flawless plan with only one single potential down side, the odd one of you may feel that you're SO logical that you're worried a little logic will remain still in the system even after the appendix have been removed, and you don't want to have to spend time in a sauna to sweat it out.

Fair enough. So for you I offer this alternative, and also brilliant way to get really, really, really rich, with no down sides at all.

Open a Chinese Restaurant.

Use exclusively rancid meat.

Have every fortune cookie say 'you will get diarrhea'.

Boom, you have a Chinese restaurant that can boast 100% accurate fortune cookies 100% of the time, and therefore you've got yourself a money-printing factory!!! EVERYONE is going to want to experience a fortune cookie that’s definitely correct. Why do you think they call them 'fortune' cookies?

Enjoy being rich everyone. And no need to say thanks. As a psychic

I am already well aware of all the gifts you all have coming my way. So let me take this time for me to thank you.

Suddenly Zap

It had been too long since I'd been zapped with an illogical memory conclusion. You know how it goes. You think everything is fine, hunky-dory even, which is way better than dreamboat-dorey, but still only fine. And then suddenly - Zap - logic forgetfulness and indecision are all obliterated in a second.

Like the zap of an electric shock, but way more exciting because unlike those, these happen suddenly.

'Skis for blue whales - my keys are in my sock draw - Tuesday at 11pm' you'll be zapped with. Or even 'Concrete flavored Palm trees - call Kyle back - there shouldn't be traffic at this time, take the freeway' will totally zap you.

It's brilliant. It's exciting. If it was an exciting new improvement in a product you already enjoyed you'd think the development was brilliant.

But it hadn't happened to me for a while. Too long. Sure 'clover colored lighting - get milk - see the 9pm showing' or 'generational based cloud faces - October 13th - leftovers' would pop up. But two out of three IS bad damn it. Very bad.

Sadly, this story does not have a happy ending. You can't manufacture something that isn't any good unless it's sudden and in zap form. So I'll just wait, and hope, possibly even pray. But I'm fine, very fine, you could  even say I'm handsome-dorey.
